Katarina Al Hariri

is a multidisciplinary visual artist and educator whose practice spans painting, drawing, Arabic ornament art, embroidery, and mixed media. Born in Madrid, raised in Syria, and now based in Kitchener, Ontario, she holds a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts (2006, Damascus University).

Her work explores identity, cultural heritage, healing, and empowerment, with a strong focus on community-driven art initiatives. She has led workshops for children, adults, and seniors in Canada, Syria, and Jordan, including newcomer women’s programs at YWCA Hamilton and mentorship with the City of Kitchener Matchup Program. Her art has been exhibited internationally and recognized with awards, including the Spring Art Fair (2008, Syria).

Katarina is passionate about art as a tool for connection, accessibility, and resilience, building bridges across cultures and communities through creative expression.
